In the afternoon, we had another landing, which was a delight for anyone even remotely interested in geology. The mountains across the bay featured alternating layers of, among others, limestone, dolomite, mudrocks (shales and siltstones), and quartzite. We had a perimeter landing, where guests could explore the interesting rock formations close to the landing site or head up to a scenic viewpoint overlooking the bay. Guests also had the option of taking another polar plunge, this time from the sandy beach. In the evening, we caught a glimpse of the beautiful Alpefjord before it got dark.
