Icy rains and shapeless, heavy mists enveloped us as we left the Falklands and sailed eastwards. As our sturdy ship punched through the wind-pulled crests of innumerable waves, guests reclined and rested in the comfort of delectable meals and stimulating lectures.

The ocean’s passion did not subside with the passing of another day. The winds continued to whip the waves into swelling stacks, and the cold rains continued to pelt us. Yet the day was passed pleasantly, with guests having the opportunity to attend many interesting activities and lectures, including a knitting corner, and a pertinent presentation on the birds of South Georgia.
