Under a bright blue sky in the bustling port of Hamburg, HX guests stepped aboard MS Fridtjof Nansen with a sense of anticipation and adventure, bound for the wild landscapes of Iceland.

In the evening, the cast off and the city’s harbour slowly drifted from view. Unlike a large cruise liner, our intimate ship promised a closer connection to the sea and the remote places ahead.

The voyage will trace a northern path along the southern tip of Norway before crossing to the rugged cliffs and windswept moors of the Shetland Islands. From there, the journey would continue across the North Atlantic to the emerald-green peaks and quiet fishing harbours of the Faroe Islands, each stop offering a new blend of maritime history, seabirds, and dramatic northern scenery before the ship finally reached Iceland’s volcanic shores.
