We began the morning by sailing into dramatic Trollfjord, where MS Spitsbergen carefully made its way through the narrow entrance. With excellent conditions, the towering rock walls and snow-covered slopes reflected clearly on the calm water, allowing us to fully appreciate the scale and grandeur of this iconic fjord. The slow navigation through the passage gave everyone time on deck to take in the scenery and the quiet atmosphere.

After exiting the fjord, we continued toward Ulvøya, where we launched our expedition boats for a closer exploration of the coastline. Cruising at water level offered a different perspective — steep mountains, rocky shorelines, and the subtle winter colours of Arctic Norway unfolding around us.

At the same time, a group of kayakers set out to experience the area independently, gliding across the calm surface and enjoying the stillness of the surroundings. With stable weather and smooth seas, both the ship sailing and the expedition boat cruising felt perfectly timed, making for a balanced morning of navigation and close-up exploration.
