At 68° South we went ashore at Horseshoe Island. Here, our guests took a look inside British Base Y, a hut that had had once been used as a research station, and a true time capsule of the 1950s. Our Geologist explained that the green veins in the stones are malachite. A giant tabular iceberg loomed behind the landing site, adding to the perfect Antarctic ambience of the day.
