We began with zodiac cruising at Alkefjellet, navigating among towering bird cliffs where thousands of seabirds nested on rocky ledges. The expedition team guided us through the dramatic landscape of these vertical rock formations. Once back on board we attended a lecture focusing on Arctic sea ice; learning about its role as earth's protective layer. The afternoon brought us to Torellneset for a landing, where we walked across the tundra and observed the behaviour of a huddle of walruses. Some of us participated in a science boat session, contributing to research efforts while exploring the area.
