Our day required flexibility due to the prevailing conditions. The morning Zodiac cruise at Negribreen was cancelled because of fog. We then navigated to Boltodden, but strong breakers along the coast prevented a landing. Adapting our plans, we proceeded to Strongbreen for a late afternoon Zodiac cruise. While onboard, we attended lectures on the geological history of Svalbard and the impact of underwater noise on marine life. We also learned how to identify clouds as part of a NASA citizen science project, contributing valuable data to climate research.
