This morning brought one of the most memorable highlights of our voyage as we arrived at the island of Staffa under calm seas and clear conditions—an ideal setup for a small boat cruise around this extraordinary place.
We navigated along the basalt cliffs, watching the sea swirl around the geometric rock formations, until we reached the iconic Fingal’s Cave. Thanks to the perfect conditions, we were able to enter the cave itself—its cathedral-like acoustics and otherworldly beauty making it easy to understand why it inspired Mendelssohn’s famous overture.
On the water, puffins, guillemots, razorbills, and cormorants. The skies and seas around Staffa were alive with movement, colour, and sound—offering a moment that felt equal parts wild and timeless.
It was a morning of rare access and unforgettable sights—one of those experiences that will stay with us long after the journey ends.
