The sea day on our way to Puerto Madryn brought moderate waves and noticeably warmer air, a clear sign we were heading north. Out on deck, the wildlife watches continued to deliver, with a good variety of seabirds soaring in our wake—now in more temperate conditions. The day started gently with an early morning yoga session, followed by a full programme of lectures and activities. Topics ranged from the Antarctic food web and the marvels of bird migration to the rich history of Patagonia and even some surprising facts about sand.

In the Science Centre, a workshop offered a closer look at the plankton samples collected during earlier science boat outings in Antarctica and the Falklands—tiny organisms with big stories to tell. Meanwhile, those feeling creative brought their clay model creations to life with paint in a relaxed art session.

Later in the day, a Q&A session with the ship’s officers gave guests a chance to ask questions about the vessel and its operations—offering a behind-the-scenes look at life and logistics aboard the ship.
