On the second day of South Georgia we make it to the legendary place known as Fortuna. The beaches are inaccessible due to HPAI, but we are still on track for cruising! And in a way, this may be even better than a landing. It gives us a good look at the thousands of critters crawling over the sandy shores. Seals, King Penguins, Skuas, and more are abundant and one gets a true sense of the diversity South Georgia has to offer. The second cruising of the day takes us to Hercules bay where we meet the deceptively plenty but hard to find Macaroni Penguins! With their impressive eyebrows they are quite the striking characters, and a waterfall in the background does not hurt the photo genetic options neither.
