First day of excursions below the circle. In the morning we were at Horseshoe Island and in the afternoon, in Stonnington Island. The landings site was unbelievable. You walked up to huts of scientific stations from the Uk and the US that was like entering a time machine that takes you back to the times the British and US Americans were doing research in Antarctica during the XX Century. Geography that leaves you speechless? Check. An enormous and gorgeous glacier a few meters away from the landing site cracking and calving? check! The whole day was just breath-taking.
