We arrived in Heimaey ready to explore one of Iceland’s most fascinating volcanic islands up close. Many guests joined the included lava and history walk, learning about the dramatic 1973 eruption that transformed the island and shaped the lives of its residents. Others chose from a range of optional excursions, including the popular 'Pompeii of the North' island tour, scenic boat cruises around Heimaey’s rugged coastline, thrilling RIB safaris through sea caves and bird cliffs, and guided expedition hikes offering panoramic views across the island and surrounding ocean.

After a memorable day exploring volcanic landscapes and local history, guests gathered on board for the Captain’s Farewell, followed by the photographers’ slideshow presentation, celebrating the unforgettable moments and experiences shared throughout the voyage.
