At our final stop in Peru for this journey, we had a number of excursions. The included one was the boat trip to the Ballestas islands which is a nature reserve and an area of guano harvesting which takes place every 5-7 years. It is also a hotspot wildlife with the main bird species such as the Inca turn, and the booby nesting here. It is also an opportunity to see the South American sea lion sunbathing on the rocky shores of the islands. We also had other excursions such as the National Reserve bus tour as well as the popular Nazca Lines Overflight which gives an amazing view of the lines which have been baffling archeologists for many years since no one knows for sure where they come from.
