The day began with a morning cruise around Yalour Island, where scattered, low-lying shorelines of exposed intrusive igneous rocks rose into steep cliffs, supporting thriving Adélie and gentoo penguin colonies. Off the islands, we were also treated to spectacular views of humpback whales diving and showing off their huge tail flukes.
