The morning brought a series of briefings to prepare guests for landings and excursions in the Arctic. The Expedition Team presented the AECO guidelines, and Lara led the kayaking session. After lunch, guests made their first landing at Burgerbukta. Conditions were favourable, and the wildlife did not disappoint: Arctic terns, gulls, a harbour seal, a bearded seal, possibly a walrus, and — most thrillingly — the fresh footprints of a polar bear.
