We sailed into Magdalenefjord in the morning where some guests gathered on Deck 5 for a wildlife watch as the landscape opened up around us. Some attended the short presentation on the polar bear in the Science Centre and the lecture on glaciers in the lecture hall, while others joined the NASA GLOBE Cloud Observer Citizen Science project on Deck 7 or stepped outside on Deck 5 for the scenic approach to Gravnesodden (also known as Gravneset). Those heading out by kayak collected their gear in preparation for the afternoon.

After lunch, we set off ashore at Gravneset, called by boat groups, while some joined the science boat session and others headed out on the water by kayak. We closed the evening with the briefing for tomorrow's plans and the scenic sailing past Smeerenburg.
