Today we had our last day in the Antarctic. During the morning the Expedition Team hosted lectures, and after lunch we reached the entrance to Deception Island: Neptune’s Bellows, where towering cliffs welcomed us as we stood in awe as we sailed in. Once at Whalers Bay, we landed at a former whaling station, and we could literally feel the history of this impactful place. The landing site had many remains from this industry as well as former scientific stations destroyed by an eruption. The other side, towards Neptune’s Bellow, was full of Antarctic fur seals, which we hadn't seen on this voyage yet. During the evening we put on our dancing shoes and partied to the music of our lovely crew band!
