Another day in the Drake Passage carried us steadily closer to Antarctica, with remarkably calm seas making for a very smooth crossing. Our guests attended the mandatory IAATO briefing, learning how to visit this remarkable environment responsibly. During the day they also received their rubber boots, an essential piece of gear for our upcoming landings. Lectures continued on board, while many returned to the decks to wildlife watch, keeping an eye on the seabirds that followed the ship. With every mile south, anticipation quietly grew as Antarctica drew nearer.
