In the vast white wilderness of George VI Sound we achieved a rare milestone: a successful sea ice landing at 69.5° South. A short expedition boat ride delivered us onto solid sea ice – an expedition dream realized! Six curious emperor penguins kept a polite distance, inspecting their visitors with regal composure, while a gloriously lazy crabeater seal lounged nearby, entirely unbothered.

The grand finale? A bold polar plunge from the ship – 104 brave souls embraced the icy Southern Ocean with shrieks, cheers, and triumphant grins. Between thrilling wildlife encounters and frosty feats, it was a day that perfectly captured Antarctica at its wild, wonderful best.
