During lunchtime we sailed out of Paradise Harbour through the Aguirre Channel and past the Chilean González Videla Antarctic Base base there. We had to make a little detour through the Errera Channel due to large icebergs blocking the west side of Danco Island. Once in position we started our landing at Danco island, where a large number of gentoo penguins were sitting on the beach molting. The weather had changed quite a bit with increasing wind and swells, but every so often the sky broke apart for a bit to reveal some rays of sunshine over the towering icebergs in the bay.
