Our day in Sund, within the spectacular Lofoten Islands, began with a memorable expedition boat ride from the ship into Stormarkpollen. The journey itself became part of the experience: a long and beautiful cruise through calm waters, surrounded by steep, snow-covered mountains rising dramatically from the sea. With excellent weather and clear visibility, the landscape felt vast and sharply defined, inviting us to simply pause and take it all in.
Upon reaching the landing site, guests stepped ashore under bright and stable conditions. The surrounding peaks framed the area perfectly, offering uninterrupted views across the fjord and into the heart of Lofoten’s rugged terrain. Some guests explored the shoreline and nearby paths at a relaxed pace, while others joined the planned activities, making the most of the calm air and the crisp winter light.
The combination of the scenic ride, the open views, and the stillness of the landing created a day that felt expansive and immersive — an opportunity to experience Lofoten’s dramatic geography from both sea and shore in truly ideal conditions.
