Our voyage began in Tromsø, where our guests were greeted by pleasant winter weather and calm conditions in the harbour. Throughout the afternoon, they arrived at the pier and embarked MS Spitsbergen, settling into their cabins and taking time to explore the ship that would be their home for the coming days.

After dinner, guests gathered for the mandatory safety drill, an important introduction to procedures and life on board. The evening continued with the Captain’s Welcome, followed by an information meeting led by the Hotel Manager and the Expedition Leader, where guests learned more about the journey ahead and what to expect during their time exploring Northern Norway.

As we departed Tromsø and the city slowly faded into the Arctic twilight, the calm weather and steady sea provided a smooth and confident start to our winter expedition along the Norwegian coast.
