Our first nature landing of the voyage was also our guests' first experience of being taken ashore in the ship’s expedition boats. We landed at New Island, owned by the Falklands Conservation charity . On the island, we encountered thriving Falklands wildlife, visiting a mixed colony of rockhopper penguins, black-browed albatrosses, and blue shags. Along the trail, we met many geese and several other bird species, including meadowlarks and caracaras.
