The ship came to life slowly as we recovered from the celebrations of the night before. The Drake was kind today. Hopefully, the Drake will be a reflection of the year ahead, calm and peaceful for all.

Lectures, briefings, and workshops filled the day. We saw more species of birds, and whales were spotted. The excitement was building, as tomorrow we would arrive in Antarctica.
