The next morning began with one of Antarctica’s great highlights: a full exploration of the Lemaire Channel. We sailed its entire length twice—first north to south, then turning around to return south to north—giving everyone the chance to admire this legendary passage from both directions. The wind followed us through the channel, sending small ripples across the still water, but the skies were clear, and the towering cliffs and glaciers on either side stood in brilliant contrast. Everywhere we looked, the landscape felt dramatically close, as if Antarctica were leaning in to greet us.

Along the way, we crossed paths once more with our sister ship Fridtjof Nansen, sharing a moment between two expedition vessels exploring the same icy maze. After completing our double transit of the Lemaire, we continued sailing northward into the Peltier Channel, making our way toward Damoy Point, our next planned adventure.

A morning of unforgettable scenery—and one of the finest showcases of Antarctic beauty.
