In the afternoon, we sailed southeast to the coast of Danco Island. The view from the top of the hill was unmatched. Nevertheless, while walking up the slope, our guests found midway a young elephant seal lying down, surrounded by penguins. It wasn’t at all concerned by our presence and continued to sleep the whole time we were there. At night, the conditions in the bay were ideal, so some of our guests spent an eventful night on the snowy coast. Those who were unsuccessful in catching some sleep in the beginning were rewarded by the visit of Weddell seals and humpback whales during the luminous night.
