Our first day on the peninsula began with scenic sailing down the Gerlache Strait and the spectacular Neumayer Channel. Arriving at the historic site of Damoy Point, we began our expedition operations. A busy day saw most landing on the shore to be greeted by penguins and thick snow. Some snowshoed, some kayaked, and as the day finished, others went camping in tents and bivy bags.
