After a few shaky days crossing the Drake, we finally arrived in Antarctica! It was an action-packed day: guests went snowshoeing, kayaking, joined the science boat, and everyone enjoyed a landing. We also had the opportunity to step inside the historic Damoy Hut and glimpse what life was like for those who lived and worked here in the past. Damoy Point offered perfect snow conditions for a beautiful walk to a gentoo penguin colony and a scenic viewpoint overlooking the jagged mountains surrounding our landing site. In the evening, our campers headed out for their overnight adventure. Whether on land or aboard the ship, everyone got to enjoy a spectacular cotton-candy sunset with a full moon hanging low over the mountains.
