After a rough night, the sea gradually calmed down during the morning. After three days, land came back into view: the Falkland Islands. Our attempt to reach New Island failed because the conditions were too rough. After repositioning to Saunders Island, the expedition team attempted a scouting mission, but the gusts of wind and waves were too risky to leave the ship. Nevertheless, we were able to spend hours watching the numerous Commerson's dolphins surfing joyfully in the waves and circling our ship. What a spectacle!
