It was a mix of rain and sunshine today in Iceland's beautiful capital. Guests started to embark Spitsbergen just shortly after 3pm. We also handed out the complimentary expedition jackets and rubber boots for for the voyage. Just after 8pm, we departed the pier and headed out to open sea which proved to be a little bit bumpy. Later that evening we got the message that some incredible northern lights (aurora borealis) where spotted as we were sailing off the west coast of Iceland.
