We attended expedition briefings and explored Fram’s science program, which encouraged participation in onboard research. Our first polar bear sighting was a thrilling moment that led to the cancellation of the Burgerbukta landing, yet it made the experience worthwhile. Instead, a zodiac cruise in Brepollen was organized, marking our first time on the water during this expedition. Although the kayak adventure and landings were canceled, we remained engaged with workshops on geology and wildlife, including an informative lecture on polar bears by Jenna, making the most of our time amidst Svalbard’s stunning environment.
