Today we found ourselves surrounded by the open waters of the Greenland Sea as we continued our journey toward Jan Mayen. With fair sea conditions and a steady course, it was the perfect opportunity to enjoy life aboard the MS Spitsbergen and take part in a rich and varied onboard program.

Our day was filled with engaging lectures and hands-on activities designed to prepare us for the destinations ahead. One of the highlights was a presentation from our special guest—a Greenlandic chef—who offered insights into the culinary traditions of Greenland, giving us a taste of the culture we’re soon to explore.

Meanwhile, the Science Center was buzzing with curiosity, with guests joining microscope sessions to examine samples up close. We also dove into the fascinating world of geology, built our own sextants in a practical workshop, and contributed to citizen science by observing and identifying cloud types for the NASA Globe Observer project.

As the day progressed, the excitement for Jan Mayen began to build. With knowledge gained and our sense of adventure sharpened, we’re now well-prepared for what promises to be an unforgettable landing ahead.
