Today we visited the stunning town of Qeqertarsuaq on the southern shore of Disko Island. The community set up a demonstration of the traditional Greenlandic Polka Dance and many guests joined in to learn this dance. Hikes went out of town to view the impressive volcanic landscape that distinguishes Disko Island from the surrounding ancient metamorphic rocks of mainland Greenland. The local sled dogs also greeted many guests with a litter of puppies. The sun shone brightly as we sailed southwards and bade farewell to the Arctic.
