Our adventure around the Svalbard archipelago began in Longyearbyen, we boarded MS Spitsbergen in the afternoon and started settling into what will be our floating home for the days ahead. Once on board, we gathered for the mandatory safety drill before heading into our first dinner together. As the ship sailed out of Isfjorden, our Expedition Leader and Hotel Manager welcomed us with an introductory presentation, setting the tone for the voyage to come. The evening continued with the distribution of our blue expedition jackets and rubber boots—essentials for the Arctic landings ahead. With spirits high and anticipation building, we turned in for the "night", ready for what lies beyond the horizon.
