Today in Ny-Ålesund, we enjoyed a day filled with diverse activities both onboard and ashore. Our morning started with the mandatory AECO briefing, followed by a wildlife watch that encouraged us to observe our surroundings closely. We then attended a kayak briefing and learned about the ship’s science program, which inspired many questions. In the afternoon, we explored Ny-Ålesund on guided walks in organized boat groups, discovering its unique history and landscape. Later, we sailed to witness the impressive views of Kongsfjorden and the majestic Kongsbreen glacier. The day ended in the Explorer Lounge with the Captain’s Welcome, connecting us with the officers and the expedition team.
