Today was a nature landing day, and it was unlike any of excursions before. We landed at the bay and it was basically a free-roaming area. We were able to walk along the coast to a river, enter a magical native forest and truly connect with nature. To many it felt like entering the heart of Alaska, and the idea that a bear could appear at any moment gave us a sense of constant awareness, but in a very exciting way. There were bear and moose tracks marked on the beach for us to analyze. We observed different species of lichen and moss, while breathing in the truly clean air. The whole experience connected us with the forest, creating a therapeutical and nourishing atmosphere.
