Our last stop before returning to Glasgow brought us to the Isle of Colonsay—a quiet gem in the Inner Hebrides that offered a serene and beautiful conclusion to our journey. The skies were open, the air warm, and the light softened the island’s rolling hills and sheltered bays.

Many of us made our way to the Colonsay Gardens, where a surprising variety of plants flourished in the island’s mild climate. Some reached the gardens on foot or by shuttle, while others enjoyed the company of the Expedition Team for a relaxed walk through the landscape.

A separate group set out on a scenic hike across the island, taking in sweeping views and enjoying the peaceful pace of this remote community. With time to reflect and take in the quiet, Colonsay gave us space to slow down and simply enjoy being where we were.

It was a gentle and fitting final chapter to an expedition filled with nature, history, and moments of shared discovery.
