Strong winds had swept through the area in the days leading up to our arrival at Jan Mayen, a remote volcanic island in the heart of the North Atlantic Ocean, known for its isolation. We opened the tender pit and launched a boat, hoping to attempt a zodiac cruise. Unfortunately, the swells were still too high to proceed. Instead, we ship cruised along the southern coast of Jan Mayen, and as we reached the northern tip, we were fortunate—the clouds lifted, revealing the massive Beerenberg volcano and its glaciers. What an unforgettable sight!
