The weather gods are still with us! We sailed along the bright night to get to Bjørnfjorden, the "Bear Fjord". We saw an amazing glacier at the end of the fjord, which was very active with calvings and lots of icebergs around. Some of the group went kayaking among the icebergs while the rest of us walked along the moraine to reach the side of the glacier. Here, we experienced the fantastic feeling of walking for a few metres on the ice. The afternoon landing was a bit of a challenge. Once we reached Smeerenburg, the fog covered the entire area, so it was unsafe for us to land due to the risk of encountering polar bears. The Expedition Team scouted a nearby bay called Frambukta, and we got the opportunity to walk through rocky terrain and enjoy the views of a fantastic glacier. We also did some spontaneous beach cleaning!
