The Isle of Lewis was our destination for the day, with Stornoway as our port. Today, we visited Ancient Lewis and the Black House, where we had the opportunity to see the standing stones of Callanish, often referred to as the Stonehenge of Scotland, and the Gearrannan Blackhouse Village. Additionally, some hikers ventured to Cnoc na Croich Chambered Cairn, the highest point near Stornoway, historically associated with meting out justice to wrongdoers during the time of Clan Chief McLeod of Lewis, who held power over the pit and gallows. We also embarked on a science boat excursion, where onboard scientists showcased their underwater drone, allowing us to explore different facets of Stornoway.
